From the Kitchen of: Wanda Tomaszewski
- 1/2 c rice
- 1 quart milk
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon or allspice
- 1/2 c sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 c raisins
- 2 eggs – beaten
Mix first five ingredients, pour into greased baking dish, and bake at 275 degrees for 2 1/2 hours, stirring often. Add raisins and eggs and bake another 1/2 hour.
I almost always add 1 tsp vanilla with the raisins and eggs, but I love vanilla.
If you don’t like raisins, leave them out. I’ve made it that way many times and it’s still wonderful. However, I love it with golden raisins.
