French Toast

There’s no recipe written down for this but, this is how I remember it

  • 2 slices of bread – white is good, but try different types, I like a multi-grain bread
  • 1 egg
  • 1 oz. milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 rounded teaspoon sugar

Heat up your griddle, skillet, or frying pan and add a pat of butter.

In flat bottomed dish (big enough to dip your bread in) add eggs, milk, vanilla, and sugar. Mix well. Dip a slice of bread and fry until egg mixture is browned nicely and no raw egg is seen. Continue until egg mixture is gone.

Serve with plenty of butter and your topping of choice. Real maple syrup or jam. Make extra because it tastes great cold with a little butter on it.

Optionally, add cinnamon, nutmeg, other extracts than vanilla, or citrus zest.
