Cherry Squares

1 c butter, softened
3/4 c sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 c flour
1 can cherry pie filling
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c flour
1/4 c butter

Mix first five ingredients well and spread on 10×15 greased cookie pan. With spoon, spread 1 can cherry pie filling over top.
Sprinkle evenly with crumbs made of 1/2 c sugar, 1/2 c flour, and 1/4 c butter. Bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees.
